The Farnborough International Airshow Returns
One of the world’s leading airshows, Farnborough kicks off July 22nd
Calling itself ‘the apex of aviation,’ the Farnborough International Airshow will connect the global aerospace and defense communities across five days of exhibitors, networking and flying displays. This year marks the 45th edition of the show and will bring together the aerospace community to accelerate innovation, facilitate networking opportunities and showcase the present and future of flight. Farnborough CEO Gareth Rogers shares his goals for the conference: “We are focused on developing more opportunities for the world to discover the latest pioneering technology and engineering, businesses to build historic partnerships and work towards a cumulative sustainable aerospace vision as an industry.”
As in previous years, a delegation from Washington State will be on hand to meet with industry partners, learn from speakers and exhibit on the show floor. Held every two years, the show attracts aerospace leaders from around the world, and previous shows have included the Center of Excellence as attendees and participants.
“We strive to do things differently to better support and connect the global aerospace, defense and wider industry,” say Farnborough leadership, defining their purpose. The show provides opportunities for wide-ranging participation and engagement for exhibitors, sponsors, delegates and the media.
This year’s show will focus on six key themes:
Space: The commercial development of space holds immense significance in shaping the future of the global economy.
Defense: Farnborough plays a vital role in bringing together defense companies, strategic decision-makers and military delegations.
Sustainability: Examine the impact of climate change and the need for immediate action.
Innovation: Showcase the best aviation advancements in the exhibition halls, static displays and in the skies.
Future Flight: Combining aerospace, electric propulsion and autonomous technologies to provide efficient and sustainable flight alternatives.
Workforce: Development of the future workforce is critical for industry growth and will provide fresh perspective, ideas and skills.
In 2022 Farnborough hosted 1,262 exhibitors, 250 official delegations, 74,780 visitors from 96 countries, 1,629 accredited media and 27 country pavilions.
Calling itself “the ultimate networking hub,” Farnborough provides opportunities to connect with industry leaders through welcome receptions, the Business Connection Exchange and programs for delegations to network with high-level VIP delegates.
Beyond networking and exhibitions, Farnborough showcases a wide variety of other industry opportunities. The Space Zone offers the opportunity to meet with the global space community. The flying displays take place just outside the venue, with the latest in aircraft taking to the skies. Keynotes and panel sessions allow attendees to hear directly from experts. And the Airline Leaders Summit presents a panel of senior aviation personnel sharing their insight on the industry.
